» Feature Writer Timbre Beck-Murphy - If she's healthy and able, why shouldn't she compete?

Many people believe that Michelle Kwan should continue in eligible competition as long as she is willing and able to do the job.

Others say that even if she's unable to hold her own at the next Olympics she'll be unfairly granted a spot on the world team -- a spot that should go to a more deserving but less famous skater.

I think if she remains technically competitive and stays injury-free, she should be given a chance at the next Olympic Winter Games just like any other skater. My thought, though, is why would she want to put herself through four more years of hard-core training when her body's giving out on her now?
