Korean national team coach, Jaesu Chun, will coach camp participants, as will several other elite US National and Olympic team skaters. There are 3-day or 7-day camp options, and the curriculum will include components from basic technical skills up to higher level racing tactics.
The published cost is $295, which includes coaching, 21 hours of ice time, 21 hours of dry land training, BBQ socials, meals, laser tag, and entry to the competition. The camp is limited to only 30 skaters, but the competition that follows is expected to draw 100 competitors this year.
Only short track will be raced this year as the coordinators of the program say they are focusing on helping skaters improve their baseline performances. Skaters of all ages and abilities are encouraged to take advantage of the week-long training program.
