AKA: Big Daddy of all things skating, this is the official governing body for all sanctioned events and competitions leading up to and including Worlds and the Olympics.

Their website contains all rules and decisions affecting every "official" aspect of the sport. They post comprehensive international competition schedules, rule updates and athlete biographies and stats.

The ISU governs long and short track speed skating, synchronized skating, and all disciplines of figure skating. Athletes and their governing bodies must be members of and in compliance with the ISU to be eligible for the major international competitions.

The ISU is also responsible for enforcing regulations relating with rules and regulations dealing with judging, and member conduct such as doping issues.
