More 2007 Figure Skating ShowsDisson’s 2007 line-up includes a world-class list of skaters.Several ice skating performances are sure to put you in the holiday mood in the upcoming season.
Wynonna Tribute on IceIf you’re in the Illinois area of Hoffman Estates on Tuesday, November 20th, get tickets to see the country girl and her mom, Naomi Judd, croon for the figure skaters. Skating at the Sears Centre are Brian Boitano, Evan Lysacek, Rudy Galindo, Steven Cousins, Caryn Kadavy, Amber Corwin, Rory Burghart, and ice dancers Naomi Lang & Peter Tchernyshev. Get a close-up view at home with your family and friends by watching the rebroadcasts. NBC plans to air the show on Sunday, December 23rd, from 4:00-6:00pm. The Style Network follows suit on January 27, 2008 from 10:00am-12:00pm and on February 1st from 5:00-7:00pm. Aflac Presents Brian Boitano Skating SpectacularTake hold of the holiday spirit in San Francisco’s AT&T Park on Wednesday, December 5th. Expect the same caliber of world-class athletes to strut their stuff when the field is turned into a figure skating rink. This time, sports legends appearing at the famous ball park are: Brian Boitano, Dorothy Hamill, Viktor Petrenko, David Pelletier, Steven Cousins, Yuka Sato & Jason Dungjen, Elena Leonova & Andrei Khvalko, and Vladamir Besedin & Oleksiy Polishuk. Catch the NBC showing of the Skating Spectacular on Saturday, December 22nd, from 4:00-6:00pm. December 23rd (from 10:00am-12:00pm) and December 28th (from 5:00-7:00pm) are the Style Network’s broadcast dates of the show. Musselman’s Applesauce Presents Sara Evans Country on IceAn exciting evening is sure to get your toes tapping on Thursday, December 13th at the Target Center in Minneapolis, Minnesota. Skating cowgirls and cowboys will be: Brian Boitano, Todd Eldridge, Michael Weiss, Caryn Kadavy, Jennifer Robinson, Amber Corwin, Naomi Lang & Peter Tchernyshev, Albena Denkova & Maxim Stavinski, and Vladamir Besedin & Oleksiy Polishuk. The beautiful country star Sara Evans takes center stage -- er -- ice. You’ll want to watch this show again and again, and you’ll have your chance on three different occasions. Country on Ice will show on NBC on New Year’s Day from 3:00pm-5:00pm EST. It will repeat on the Style Network February 10, 2008 from 10:00am-12:00pm and February 15, 2008 from 5:00pm-7:00pm. Glade Presents Mannheim Steamroller’s Halloween on Ice 2006 RebroadcastOctober 27th, from 4:00-6:00pm EST, NBC replays one of the most fun ice shows of the 2006 season. The Style Network will also run the taping on October 28th from 10:00am-12:00pm and Halloween from 5:00pm-7:00pm. If you didn’t catch the performance the first time around, here’s your chance to see some awesome performances by Nancy Kerrigan, Kurt Browning, Todd Eldredge, Irina Slutskaya, Jozef Sabovcik, Shae-Lynn Bourne, Steven Cousins, Dan Hollander, and Galit Chait. Check out full cast lists and information on the following figure skating shows: Kristi Yamaguchi Friends and Family, Smucker’s Presents Kurt Browning’s Gotta Skate, Skating & Gymnastics Spectacular, Mrs. Dash Skate for the Heart, Capital One Holiday Celebration on Ice, and Progressive Fashion on Ice. These shows are made for television, so they usually ask the skaters to come back to the ice to clean up their routines. The audience at home gets a virtually error-free show. The live audience gets another dose of their favorite skating stars trying tricky parts of their routines until they get them right. It’s worth the investment to see these athletes in person – to get to know them a little bit more than you can through the T.V.
